This looks like an inexpensive way to get fast PWM and encoder rates except it doesn't work in realtime yet? It might be good for when you have a large machine an want to put an I/O controller close to the sensors and solenoids to reduce noise problems, but I guess you would need error correction in the data connection to make it worth while?
