There's an area that the EMC2 developers stake out for our "fest".  
Aside from that, there are dozens of classes on building and 
retrofitting machines, using a CNC, making EDM machines, setting up 
various pieces of hardware and software, and a range of other demos and 
discussions (anodizing at home, lost-foam casting of Aluminum ...)

I've never been to the NAMES or Cabin Fever shows (though I'd like to 
some day), but I think they're more for the model-building aspects of 
machining, with some CNC thrown in.  The CNC workshop is about CNC, with 
some other stuff thrown in.

Just my dual pennies.
