Note the date - that is very recent.  CL has been ported to EMC three 
times, over a period of at least a year and a half, maybe two years.
At the time of the first port, CL was a very inactive project.  Some 
time later, Marc (CL author) resumed work on it, and it advanced enough 
that someone (I wish I could remember who, was it Chris Morley?) ported 
a newer version.  Neither of those first two ports had Modbus.

Chris has once more ported the latest CL over to EMC, and this time he 
did port the Modbus driver.  I'm not familiar with the details of the 
latest port - I've only used CL on the Mazak at the CNC workshop, and 
that was 7 or 8 months ago.
