Greetings;

I got the font problem fixed by installing another 20 megabytes of fonts on
this F8 box, and I do note one thing: When starting emc on its own screen, I
do get a realtime error, just one that never repeats.

Running it on this screen via an ssh -Y linkage, they don't occur, ever.
Maybe this says something for the 'lights out' situation, where two computers
might be better than one?

Anyway, thats just an observation, take it FWIW. $0.02 maybe? :)

The real question is that the A axis, when its moved, seems to rotate the bit
image anchored around its current z point on the X axis. There will be times
when I might have it laying somewhere near flat on the x table so that its
axis of rotation might be aligned or nearly so with the Z axis, and the
reason I say nearly so would be that I could have a shim under one edge to
tilt it slightly to get the right edge angles if I am sharpening a carbide
bit with a diamond coated wheel.

I also have visions of hobbing spur gears with a teeny bit, by rotating the
table, whose axis is straight up, to the number of degrees to get to the next
tooth, in a step and repeat fashion, and it would be very very nice if the
image of the gear itself actually rotated in the display as the program
progressed.

You might want to put that in the Wish List. :)

How do I go about changing the apparent rotation axis of the A axis as
displayed, to some other, possibly arbitrary and not aligned with any of the
first 3 axis's, angle?
