There's a ton of info on the board here: <http://mesanet.com/pdf/parallel/5i20man.pdf> There is some info about EMC's support of the 5i20 here: <http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?EMC2_Supported_Hardware> In addition to that existing support, I'm working on an updated driver for the 5i20 with HostMot2 firmware. The new driver will support up to 12 servos on a board, using 6 pins per servo (A, B, and Index for the encoder, and PWM, Dir, and Enable for the servo amplifier). Any of the servos can be disabled and traded for 6 GPIO pins. Each GPIO pin can be configured as input or output. So if you're using, say, 4 servo channels for XYZA and one servo channel for the spindle, that leaves you with 7 servo channels, which you can disable and turn into 42 GPIO pins. I hope this helps. - -- Sebastian Kuzminsky The whole of science is nothing more than a refinement of everyday thinking. - -- Albert Einstein -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFIDUceRxgLDhu2PVMRAhRqAJ9Siw5vENZsihksKNDeJV3fzRsXXgCeImmd 88/LSvr3vKMDLhTXZUfs9j8= =ad+x -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
