I like Alex's implementation - I'll leave it as the default on my primary setup myself as I do prefer it to shutoff between changes most times.
But if I'm doing some simple jogging and need the spindle and some larger exact moves I'd have a separate configuration I'd run for that. Thanks for the quick action on that. I added an ini variable [EMCIO] SPINDLE_MODE If you set SPINDLE_MODE to 1 it will cause the spindle to keep running when changing modes, but also on abort (hitting escape). The spindle stops if you hit ESTOP. The default value for SPINDLE_MODE is 0, which causes the previous behaviour. This is available in TRUNK, and will be part of 2.3.x (if it's not disputed/reverted by then ;) Regards, Alex On Wed, 2008-06-04 at 10:13 -0500, Stuart Stevenson wrote: > Gentlemen, > When using 'AXIS', is there a way to configure EMC2 to allow the > spindle to continue running when switching modes between 'manual' and > 'mdi'? > thanks > Stuart > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. > It's the best place to buy or sell services for > just about anything Open Source. > http://sourceforge.net/services/buy/index.php > _______________________________________________ > Emc-users mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
