Hello,

Well the "HOME_SEARCH_VEL" vs "HOME_SEARCH_VELOCITY" was the
problem. Thanks for that. I have "homing" working, life is good.

I'm not sure I know enough yet to evaluate the "latency". It might be a
good year of
actually making parts with the thing before I would know enough to see that.

The laptop I'm using is a "Dell Latitude C640". It's a pretty speedy
machine, runs a bit hot though.

I do get about two of these during the first 5 minutes of starting up
emc2 though:

"RTAPI ERROR: Unexpected realitime delay on task 1"

After that I don't seem to get them anymore.

Things seem to work fine. Before I got "homing" to work, I did have a 4-step
(four separate files) g-code program running that drilled 8 holes,
bored 3 large holes, and squared off the plate. I never actually made
chips with it
but I've run the program (with no cutting being done) on the mill using
this laptop
and it operated as advertised.

Thanks again.

Robert W.
