I have the 7i43 working well, on the TRUNK.  The version in 2.2.6 can be 
made to work, but not as well.

Ugh, that's no good.

This is the first crash report for the 7i43 driver, other users 
(including me) have not observed this...

Please try disconnecting everything from the 7i43 except the EPP cable. 
  Disconnect the cables from P3 and P4.

What is the source of the external 5V power?  If it's a different power 
supply than what's powering the PC, that might be a problem.  Does your 
PC have a USB port?  If so, try powering the 7i43 from the PC via a USB 
cable.

Hm, i dont know if the debian build-deps for emc2 are up-to-date in 
TRUNK...  Alex or Jeff, do you know?  In any case, try installing (with 
"apt-get install" the packages listed in the Build-Depends lines of the 
debian/control.in file.
