I just set up my new Sherline Mill and am having trouble installing the Linux/EMC Version 4.51 software.
The computer is a Dell Insperon running Windows XP professional and Linux Ubuntu. There is 1 Gig of Ram with a new 160GB hard drive. Ubuntu runs ok on the machine but when I boot with the SHERLINE software it goes through a couple DOS looking text screens and then freezes with the last line / command being: Freeing unused Kernel memory: 160K freed Can anyone advise me how to proceed? Are there changes I need to make prior to such an install. Any and All help will be appreciated by this New Guy to CNC.
