Rule of thumb on CNC, if you move away from the chuck face or the center of
rotation you are moving in a + (positive) direction.
you question on X dimension can be answered 2 ways depending if you have an
OD tool or an ID tool and also if you are on radius or diameter program.

So refer to the rule of thumb and you should do ok.

remember, you can test all of this in Air CUTS, move your Z origin in the
positive. experiment without a wreck.
