Hello All

I am very new to all this, I've looked around all the
installation helps even at Ubuntu.com trying to find a solution to my
problems. I am not very good with computers so I can only explain my
problems in a plain language, so please excuse me.

I have a Sherline Mill this came with a CD containing Linux/EMC v4.5
(Debian) and it has worked well. I have now installed EMC2/Ubuntu from a
"live CD" downloaded the site. What I should mention is that I left the old
Linux/EMC on the hard drive, and I assumed the hard drive would be
partitioned correctly. My first problem is - When the computer boots up it
only shows the Ubuntu part of the partition, where or how do I find my old
Linux/EMC. My second problem / question on the desktop of Ubuntu there are
no icons showing the Floppy, CD drive, DVD drive, or USB port. I've tried
Disk mounter and I get two - one named /boot and one 8.8GB volume. I even
tried to read FSTAB, didn't help much mainly because I have no idea what it
is talking about. So if anyone out there could help this silly old fool I
would be most grateful. Please also note that my computer sense is small and
limited to basic and simple instructions.

Dave
