Greetings;
Has anyone stumbled across a reasonably priced, cnc-able machine that would
basically be long bed lathe, for wood carving? Where the lathes spindle
motor would be driven as in how we now do the A axis, x would be say 48" to
be able to reach all of a gunstock, and y, z with sufficient travel (a foot?)
to handle a good sized starting blank? I have a BP rifle I made a stock for
several years ago, but the maple wasn't fully dry & stabilized so I had to
make use of lots of superglue to stop the splits. The rest of that plank has
now had another decade to dry, and I'd like to copy this one to a fresh piece
of maple cut from it.
