Hi Kim, automatic updates you are getting (like 2.2.6 -> 2.2.7) don't need any configuration changes or work. Your config files are (and they should be) in your home folder: /home/<username/emc2/configs/... The package update process has nothing to do with that location. The only configuration files that might get changed during an update are the sample configurations we provide inside the package: found at /etc/emc2/sample-configs/...
That beeing said, it's always best to back up your configuration (think crashed harddrive, etc) Best regards, Alex ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kim Mortensen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Enhanced Machine Controller (EMC)" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2008 9:33 AM Subject: Re: [Emc-users] RELEASED emc2.2.2.7 > Is there a way to gracefully upgrade the prevous version of EMC to the new > one without wiping the configuration files, or is it nessesary to do > backup > of this data. > > Best Regards > Kim Mortensen > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
