Hi everybody, this message is to tell to everybody that i have solved my problem,in hopes that this message is useful for someone.
Summary of the problem: - I have installed Ubuntu 8.04 HH from live cd downloaded from linuxcnc.org - I have make the EMC 2.2.7 upgrade with ubuntu upgrade manager - At the same time I have upgraded the entire PC (critical upgrades, applications, etc...) - EMC 2.2.7 doesn't RUN!! (in reality the RTAI doesn't run). I have solved my problem in this way. I have formatted the PC, installed Ubuntu 8.04 HH from live-cd BUT I have upgraded my EMC from .deb file, and so WITHOUT upgraded other files or application. So, i think that the problem is in an upgrade that is incompatible with EMC 227. Today i see that if I open the upgrade manager, my PC tell me that i have to upgrade my RTAI kernel. May be this the problem??? I leave this question to the expert... Now I hava an other problem, but I will write a dedicated mail! Thank you!
