There is documentation on using non-consecutive axes: <http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/devel/html/config_ini_config.html#sub:%5BTRAJ%5D-section> You may need to specify "AXES=9", since W is normally the ninth axis. If you still have trouble after reading that documentation, please either include your ini file in the email, or put it on the web somewhere (like http://pastebin.ca ) and give us a link to it.
