Listening to short wave radio on different frequencies would be the
easiest way I think. Even AM radio might do. For more engineering like
approach you would need spectrum analyzer and directional antennas to
see which direction radiation works most intensively. I'm not an expert
on this just pick up about this here and there.

It's the same thing, local or over longer lines. House power line wires
are very long antennas transmitting all kinds of signals. Power meter
won't block as much as you think, nor does it matter as shortwaves go
through the walls.

It's not only amateur radio that's affected. "Digital radiation"
potentially saturates other wireless devices too.
