Everybody keep telling me to tune the system in hal not EMC. I read the hal manual again over the weekend. You guy may be able to type(on keyboard setting on wood board clamped to the door of the electrical cabinet while standing at the machine) fast enough, to type "setp hm2_5i23.0.pwmgen.00.value 4.16667" then "setp hm2_5i23.0.pwmgen.00.value 0.0" to start and stop a 100+ lb table moving at 250 IPM before it knocks the end out of the ball screws, but I can't! So forget the 4.5" z axis. So if I have to use hal I need some way of sending .5 to 3 second pulse to pwmgen output. I looked at Anders Wallin M5i20 Halvcp test panel made the changes to run hostmot2 on a 5i23 but all I get is a file not found when I run the script file. Does someone have the info on what folder this need to be in so that it will run? Or what I have to do to make it run. Linux is new to me! also any way to setup a fix move distance like 12 inches so that press one button and I get a 12 inch move? Now back to the question I started this thread with. What does hm2_5i23.0.pwmgen.00.scale need to be set at, I figured that out . Its the voltage output of the 7i33 when the output is at max velocity in user units. In may case my max velocity is 4.166667 units per second witch is 250 IPM at that speed My amps need 6.5 volts so the hm2_5i23.0.pwmgen.00.scale 6.5 Donnie Message: 2 Date: Fri, 6 Feb 2009 10:21:32 +0200 From: "Alex Joni" <alex.j...@robcon.ro> Subject: Re: [Emc-users] pwmgen.N.scale Help To: "Enhanced Machine Controller \(EMC\)" <emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net> Message-ID: <3f5e70567260419da7f2f64b132ef...@ajdesktop> Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed; charset="iso-8859-1"; reply-type=original > >First of all, are you using the software pwmgen component or the >>hostmot2 pwmgen? > setp hm2_5i23.0.pwmgen.00.scale 7.5 That should answer the question. hostmot2 aka hm2. I really suggest you get somehow at speed with HAL functioning and terminology, by reading some of the HAL docs, before attempting to move on. setp hm2_5i23.0.pwmgen.00.scale 7.5 that actually means set the parameter called "scale" belonging to the pwmgen number "00" belonging to the 5i23 card number "0", driven by the hm2 driver to the value of 7.5 Regards, Alex ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Create and Deploy Rich Internet Apps outside the browser with Adobe(R)AIR(TM) software.
