There's no problem with getting very good precision with a photogrammetry. My workshop neighbour has written code algoritms for photogrammetry and they make 1/10 of mm precision - with a videocamera on a 50 ft sail boat hull. They actually came to the conclusion to make the keel fin 5 mm wider to gain upwind speed... The David scanner is amazingly good, all because of the dot matrix. It's not so much about the camera as the software.
BTW, this is pretty EMC-off topic by now. :) 2009/2/11 Rob Jansen <r...@myvoice.nl> > > I doubt the exact precision of this scanner, I am going for the > NextEngine scanner with RapidWorks to convert scans into CAD models for > SolidWorks. > I just sent them a few photo's of a product I need to scan to see if > they think NextEngine can do this. > > Regards, > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Create and Deploy Rich Internet Apps outside the browser with Adobe(R)AIR(TM) software.
