I ordered my first Linux on 49 floppy disks in February 1994. CD was not an option as I did not have a CD drive. That was the last time I used W3.1? or whatever it was called at home. Since then I tried just about any major distribution but decided to stick with Kubuntu as it is the best for my taste in systems administration and some project development.Gnome was never stable enough for me so I prefer KDE. > to 5.x. Most modern PCs can handle virtualization very well and performance is acceptable for most cases. RT is of course exception but for simulation it's OK. It's much easier to switch between virtual machines than reboot. It's easy to get free virtual Linux distributions that you can use for whatever. For that to work you can download free vmplayer too. Sharing files between VMs is easy, create a directory that can be accessed from two or more VMs and main OS. -- Rafael ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Open Source Business Conference (OSBC), March 24-25, 2009, San Francisco, CA -OSBC tackles the biggest issue in open source: Open Sourcing the Enterprise -Strategies to boost innovation and cut costs with open source participation -Receive a $600 discount off the registration fee with the source code: SFAD http://p.sf.net/sfu/XcvMzF8H _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
