###### caveat - this is from memory - I haven't installed a new load for a while ######
all my EMC2 installs follow this path - creature of habit 1. ordinary Ubuntu - an EMC2 recommended dist 2. update Ubuntu with all updates 3. EMC2 - using the EMC2 script from the wiki 4. reboot 5. follow EMC2 wiki to prepare Ubuntu for EMC2 sources and compile 6. cvs checkout sources - I always use -trunk - I like the bleeding edge :) 7. compile using --run-in-place configuration - per the wiki 8. start EMC2 in a shell after an update I have seen the default kernel changed from the -magma to the updated kernel but not usually changing the -magma kernel back to the top of the boot list is the fix for that On Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 6:41 AM, Ray Henry <rehe...@copper.net> wrote: > The following should not apply to Wes because he installed from the EMC2 > CD.
