Synergy has been good about letting me have a key for my office and shop
PC, of course, I suppose some things can be done with the demo mode. I
am just a little nervous about having a PC crash and not being able to
get a new key right away if needed. So far, I haven't had a problem,
support has been good and policies fair.

Another issue, for me at least, is that I don't use Synergy enough to
keep current. I end up having to relearn some features. This may be
typical for applications of this complexity. Many years ago, I got
training for a CAD/CAM system called Cadam. One of its features was a
dedicated supplemental keyboard which had keys for the most used
procedures, such as draw; line, circle, etc., or various snap methods,
and others. Each key had a light that would activate when the key's
feature was appropriate or when you needed prompting. It was a joy to
use, unfortunately, I haven't seen anything like it since.
