I am building a few machines currently. They are all smaller bench type
machines at this current time.
My main question is, can I drive an h bridge from the mesa. Can I count the
encoder directly from the board?
My micro lathe has a dc brush motor for the spindle. I will also be using
smaller dc motors for the other axis.
I have a couple audrino boards I may use for a test but I am not sure what the
max encoder count they would.
I have some higher power fets and a few h bridge ic chips that I would like to
use. I can't afford the mesa board as it is but it is a requirement.
The flip side is that I also have more than a few unipolar steppers, nema 23
sized. I would still have to purchase drivers, say the lini stepper kit, it is
reasonable priced. And just playing around with the one kit I did a while back
it works, but that the the extent of my testing so far.Point is it would still
be 90 dollars for the kits for 3 axis and I am stuck at limited io ports and I
would'nt learn as much.
I am still looking through the archived posts
