This is a very nice bit of work, Frank, or maybe I should say "good on 
'ya, mate!"

Just out of curiosity, is the labelling correct in your picture of the 
pendent (see 
http://www.franksworkshop.com.au/CNC/LathePendant/pendant-front.jpg)?

Maybe this is just another case of things being reversed in the Southern 
Hemisphere, but the button with the icon I associate with "pause" is 
labelled "Run" in the picture and the button with the icon I associate 
with "run" is labelled ""Pause". If I'm right, it can be your shout if I 
ever get back to Oz.
