The square broaching is one of those things that emc, hooked up to the lathe, could do on an overnight basis I'd imagine. Not having my teeny lathe rigged yet, I might have locked the mill spindle with the tool in it, and mounted the workpiece on my rotary table and wore out my new Z drive which can push to 150 lbs. Same cut 3 more times by rotating the table 90 degrees & do again. When the table hits 270, rewind it & move the x a thou, repeat. Lights optional.
