It is set up so feedback from the servo motors themselves go to the servo amplifier, and the feedback from the linear scales goes to the CNC controller. That way the servo motor to amplifier is stable independent of backlash between the motor and linear scale. These were both Anilam systems, I converted the lathe to EMC2, plan to convert the mill some day.
