I have had a look through the pluto_step .comp file, and it looks OK
to me, though I can see that there is room for an error with the ()
indexing of the hal pins and the [] indexing of arrays.

This sounds like it could be an out-of-bounds array write, does anyone
handy with C and Comp fancy looking through the code for a possible
problem?
