AFAIK "regular" EMC2 installation does not look into emc2-dev folder. But I few minutes ago got the solution: /usr/bin/axis is the script I needed to change - the contents are the same as ../emc2-dev/src/emc/usr_intf/axis/scripts/axis.py I have no idea, how I had missed this before, as I had searched more than several times. Now the Axis GUI looks just like I wanted - with pyvcp panel on the left side right below spindle and coolant control buttons. Thanks for trying to help!
