Also remember that you can have hal_float inputs and outputs with
classicladder.  They get treated as integers internally, but who
cares, if it's spindle speed in rpm.

The high/low direction reversal is a simple application of XOR

The increase/decrease is simple comparisons.

I find CL much easier than chaining a bunch of components together -
YMMV.
