I plugged it into my office work station and tried a Pico UPC on it and
had to fiddle a bit to get it to be recognized. The next step is to try
it on an EMC2 PC.

The modern datacenter depends on network connectivity to access resources
and provide services. The best practices for maximizing a physical server's
connectivity to a physical network are well understood - see how these
rules translate into the virtual world?
