>From the above link, it is hard to tell how much work it would be to use
the this new controller with EMC2. The comment about testing with
Hyperterm, seems to indicate that the controller accepts motion commands
at the level similar to EMC2's NML, so much of the really good stuff in
EMC2 (motion control, realtime, halscope/meter) would not be used, just
the g-code interpreter and AXIS (not that these aren't really good), but
I could be way off base here.

I prefer to have as much as possible out in the open source were even a
person like me can get to every nook and cranny. It might be a step
forward for someone who just wants to make chips though.
