Mine also work really great, still. I did not even replace the caps. I did adjust them a bit. I agree with Matthew that they are unfortunately large and need their own cabinet. Mounting them was a pain. I kept the original resolvers, which with pico's converter boards give me a resolution of 204800 counts per inch. Everything tuned up beautifully - the very high resolution (and velocity mode amps of course) probably help.
