I am puzzled by the thread timing on my D510 with 5i23. Running the SV12 firmware with 8 encoders and 8 pwmgens my servo thread runs at 53uS.
JT ran the same test in his P4 2.4GHz and got a number of 5.5uS (10x faster) Even running on my 7i43 (with SV12B firmware) it is only 42uS. If anyone has a D510MO or a 5i23 or both, could you run the following test from halcmd (type halrun at the command prompt) It will be necessary to change the card and firmware names to suit the actual hardware. loadrt hostmot2 loadrt hm2_pci config="firmware=hm2/5i23/SV12.BIT num_encoders=8 num_pwmgens=8" loadrt threads addf hm2_5i23.0.read thread1 addf hm2_5i23.0.pet_watchdog thread1 addf hm2_5i23.0.write thread1 start show param *time show thread -- atp "Torque wrenches are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Fulfilling the Lean Software Promise Lean software platforms are now widely adopted and the benefits have been demonstrated beyond question.
