Yes, the buildbot (buildbot.linuxcnc.org) builds all 3 current branches (2.4, 2.5, and master) for both current platforms (hardy & lucid).

Otherwise, you can get 2.5 or Master as precompiled packages from the buildbot. I _think_ that the buildbot 2.5 works on the 8.04 LiveCD kernel, but I haven't actually tried it.
