dan it would be my best recommendation to puchase cnc programming techniques by
peter smid it is availavle from industrial press or msc/enco. this book is a
great asset to the novice and expert programmer alike. i use mastercam at work
so i am infact spoiled i can recommend ez cam ez mill not as easy as mastercam
but more affordable. i have looked extensively into programming software and
feel the best deal maybe bobcad or mesh cam both available for about 200$
probotix has links to these sites. also highly recommend becoming fluent in g
code before relying exclusively on program written gcode, i.e single block,
slow rapid and be ready for feed hold,i once watched as a 15000 part took a hit
from a 14in long tool due to inappropriate post processor use caution good luck
