Thanks for the link. Much appreciated. I have a machine that was formally a CNC router. The gantry ways are pretty parallel with the table surface to begin with. The real problem comes in the pcb mouning to the table. You need to make sure that the PCB does not bow upwards. I try to pre-flex the board first so that the corners are raised up and the hold downs press these corners down, thereby assuring the central part of the pcb is against the table.
I did a PCB route not too long ago. My approach was to do an estimate on the cutting depth and then observe while it cuts. If I noticed that the copper was not cut all the way through then I would stop, re-zero the machine and then edit the g-code file to drop the Z slightly and restart. But I seem to recall that there used to be a way to Perform Z table compensation in earlier versions of ENC. Or am I crazy? -----Original Message----- From: Sven Wesley [mailto:svenne.d...@gmail.com] Sent: Saturday, December 17, 2011 4:57 AM To: Enhanced Machine Controller (EMC) Subject: [Emc-users] Very neat idea of controlling the Z-level Have you seen this? I haven't seen this one before, even though the original post is from 2009. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- Learn Windows Azure Live!
