What about to use EMC2 servo drive -control? when machine with EMC2 go into E-STOP , axis does not move by inertia. Controller try to hold position of axis where E-STOP happened. Am i right? Same could be apply to control spindle. Reality on shop floor is that when do work such tapping, everyone knows about to look at tap, but it is not the solution for problem, particularly when big shop and machinist want to have just a job!!! Machine must be design for every day machinist not a "Albert Einstein". I think such unit must be stand alone product to be integrated with different controller, to all machine can benefit from it integration. > A torque mode drive could possible be used another way however.
