Just to add a bit to what is all ready said (and I'm doing just that atm 
on my BP with 42" long parts) I put a dowel in the spindle that matches 
the nearest hole to the new work area and with the vise loose, Z down 
and put the dowel into the hole to locate the part from a previous known 
position. Then proceed with the second program.
