That sounds like one way Jon, thanks.  That  aperture is already spec'd at 
60 thou.  I need to raid my junk box for a 5 volt wall wart to power it 
with and at that point I may as well cable it to the scope & see what it 
looks like just holding it straddling the disk, turning at a couple hundred 
rpm's since it (the disk) is already installed on the lathes spindle.  ATM, 
the 5 volt wall wart might be the hardest thing to find. I'm a certified 
pack rat, but most of what I have squirreled away are 9 & 12 volt stuff.  I 
think... :(
