Hey, yes, that's very doable-looking. Found this while looking at your
link. Mebbe it comes close to setting a lower technology and rigidity
limit?:

Is the thread depth to be rolled perhaps more the limitation for lighter
gear, than diameter? (Not sure.)

It looks as if the rollers just synchronise themselves. That's
intriguing.
