I just pulled the latest hm2 git to build my own flavor of bit file,
and pulled linuxcnc 2.5

After everything is built, I'm getting the following error:

What version of linuxcnc do I need to use a 7i64 for additional IO with my 7i43?

First for any sserial support you need LinuxCNC version 2.5 or >

The actual problem you see is not a Linux CNC version problem
but that the hm2-source is out of date. There are a couple of
options to fix this for your case. The most expiditious is probably for you to
send me your PIN_XXXX file and for me to compile a bit file for you.
The other option is to download the latest hm2 source from Mesa
and try to merge in the updated files (about 3-4 files I think).
