Yes, I just had that on my list because I figured it was worth starting with known quality (its made by the people that make the extruder, controller, etc. for it), and because I am already going to place an order for the other components I might save on shipping. People are selling filament on eBay, and here is a list of some vendors: http://reprap.org/wiki/Printing_Material_Suppliers No matter what, people are charging a premium for the filament. Raw ABS pellets are going for ~$1/pound and PLA is going for about ~$2/pound from China. So some people in the middle (I guess the people extruding the filament from the pellets) are making money hand over fist. Like most things, I expect the pricing to come down as volume goes up.
