LinuxCNC currently runs on Ubuntu 12.04 in Simulation mode only. Debs in the usual places. LinuxCNC realtime requires RTAI, and it has not been ported to Linux 3.2 (the Ubuntu 12.04 kernel), so LinuxCNC realtime can't run on "normal" Ubuntu 12.04. It is possible to run Ubuntu 12.04 with the RTAI kernel from 10.04 (Linux 2.6.32), and in that case you can compile LinuxCNC from source and run it. You get the 12.04 userspace on the 10.04 kernel, so no new hardware support, just new userspace tools. http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.linux.distributions.emc.user/34836 -- Sebastian Kuzminsky ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
