The thing that I have established is that as long as you use a 'dumb' monitor in the vga port then the VESA driver fires up OK and you get a clean 1024by768 screen. If you happen to have a high res monitor ( my main system uses 1920x1200 monitors ) then Linux tries to load a different driver and this is where things got screwed up. Disconnecting the 'data' wires sorted out my problems, but I'm still not going to use the Intel boards on the CNC systems as they refuse to install XP, the asrock ones are much tidier and provided a clean dual boot between Mach3-XP and LinuxCNC :) The new intel boards need W7 so I'll recycle them on sites that already have site licences for W7 :) -- Lester Caine - G8HFL ----------------------------- Contact - http://lsces.co.uk/wiki/?page=contact L.S.Caine Electronic Services - http://lsces.co.uk EnquirySolve - http://enquirysolve.com/ Model Engineers Digital Workshop - http://medw.co.uk Rainbow Digital Media - http://rainbowdigitalmedia.co.uk ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
