I use a dial test indicator (diacator others similar can be found) in the spindle for alignment of face and bore to spindle I use a machinists level to check parallel to table and 90 degrees I cut a gear (higher tooth count than the ratio in the rotary) and measure over n teeth with a digital vernier setting 0 whenever I get a negative value the peak being a measure of your dividing error in the worm/gearbox of the rotary (expect a sawtooth error form) With some rotaries you can fit a test bar in the morse taper (still not done that myself yet)
