Nerves grow back too.
My brother severed the tip of his little finger and it was stitched back on. No
feeling for a long time, but the nerves grew back eventually.
That's probably cheaper than the Cut Away Spray, but not as instant.
Mind you; lack of feeling in the little finger might be useful if you were
doing karate chops. No need to worry if the brick you were hitting was a bit
too hard.
Then again - No Pain: No Gain (?)

I'd like to point out that there is one other area where humans can
regenerate, fairly effectively in my case up to nearly 40 years old.

Teeth. The percentage in the population as a whole who have this trait is
about 2/100,000 and I was one of them. I drank my coffee with cream &
sugar up until my mid 40's when I bit into a big mac and broke part of a
tooth away. That was my wakeup call that I needed to start taking care of
my teeth. When I was in my 20's, a curious dentist in Iowa City noted that
it appeared that my cavities appeared to be rising on the side of the tooth
in between semi-annual cleanings and offered to take a set of xrays every 6
months as part of a research project for a paper he was writing on the
subject. A year later we had 3 sets of pix that confirmed my teeth were
wearing away on top as expected but were growing from the bottom so that
any cavities were actually carried to the top of the tooth before they
could get deep enough to be a problem.

When I was about 21 I got into a scrap one night and caught a wrench in the
mouth that cleaned the 2 upper front teeth off level with the gum line. By
the time I turned 23, they were almost back to normal height. And at 78YO,
I still have them. Missing some molars though. FWIW, I did return the
favor putting the wrench swinger in the shop for a long week. Since he had
a wife & two kids and wasn't drawing a check, I took his wife half my check
so she could buy groceries two weeks in a row. His stupidity when full of
7 & 7 wasn't their fault according to my reasoning.

Cheers, Gene
