I have been reading the emails concerning these motors. I recommended these motors and we have used about 40 of them without a problem.
We are using them with our own pcb utilising the AMC DZR servo amplifier modules. I would agree that your motor cables should be about 1.5 mm sq and be covered with an overall screen connected to ground at the servo amplifier end. The motor encoder and hall cables should also have an overall screen connected to ground at the servo amplifier end. One problem I did not fully appreciate was the current drawn by the two 26LS31 line driver integrated circuits mounted on the motor pcb and consequently the volt drop over the cables we were using. Have you measured the voltage on the pcb in the motor ? When we experienced peculiar numbers of encoder counts being measured by our servo amplifier we discovered we had only 4.75 volts at the motor end. Increasing the supply voltage so that we had 4.9 volts at the motor end cured the peculiar encoder counts.
