Much open source software documents its licencing either in every file of the source code, or in one or more files named "COPYING". LinuxCNC does the latter. That file (in the top directory) not only states the licencing, but also describes the origins of the software. To me, it looks more specific than the stuff at http://linuxcnc.org/index.php/about and so perhaps more suited to your purpose. ... > but I do not see any sentence saying that LinuxCNC is released under > terms of GPL. The GPL is fully quoted in "COPYING". That could add some weight to make your customer happy. > I am asking this, because the plasma table client wants me to provide > whole bunch of paperwork (which I do not see any use for), including > also some paper, which declares that LinuxCNC is released under GPL. Maybe it's fair enough for the customer to want to know where he stands. ;-) Also, AIUI, he should have a right to the source code, equal to the access we have, so printing a URL to the source code should probably also be done. Twenty other countries fell below this threshold in 2000, and another 14 will join them by 2030. - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/low/business/7790711.stm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Everyone hates slow websites.
