Hey, I've just seen an idea on that machine, if it is what I think it is....
I been pondering for a long time on what to do about a sloppy quill in order to CNC it, and it looks like it might have been done on this machine. Instead of trying to snug up the quill, mill/grind the front of the machine to be parallel with the quill. Now you can mount linear slides and a plate that grabs the quill at the bottom!
