I agree with Eric: it should handle MDI commands in order, no matter how fast you send them. However: there was a bug, and that feature didn't work right in some certain situations. The bug is in the master branch (2.6-pre) and in the 2.5.2 release. The bug has been fixed in the 2.5 branch, so if you get 2.5 debs from the buildbot you'll get the fix.
