Hello everybody, I would like to control the wire EDM machine using emc and i noticed there was some discussion about the problem of reverse motion when electrical discharge occurs. Was this problem solved?
My machine is controlled by stepper motors. So I was wondering, would it be possible to simply load the step/dir data to a LIFO buffer. When the discharge would occur, the motion would be paused and the stepper would be fed with step/dir data in the LIFO buffer - this would enable a reverse movement. When the discharge would not occur any more, the motion would continue. Would this solve the problem of reverse motion of edm machine?
